Day 1- plaque free

It’s 3am, I’ve been home just under 12 hours. The Hospital dressings are still on and I’m keeping up with the pain meds as it does hurt. I struggle to get back to sleep after waking, it’s been like this for a while now since 27th November when I was told I may have Melanoma.

The removal of plaque procedure has gone well and I will discover how much of an effect it has had on my vision when we remove the dressings today and embark upon the month of drops and bathing ahead. The muscle has been re sutured but my surgeon is expecting a degree of impairment, possibly double vision, for a while. Cue funky patches.
