Peg legged and mono sighted I roll into February. I feel like a caricature of my former self but only on the outside. Every day genuinely provides a new and interestingly sourced ounce of strength and ingenuity to womble on. Some of the most simple tasks can resemble snow-peaked mountain passes, but they bring smiles as I take a little jump out of my body and look down on myself and the creativity required to perform my roll as the ‘tooth fairy!’ Have you ever attempted a young boys bedroom floor in the dark with double vision on crutches on post surgical pain meds? Probably not! I’ll let you all imagine that scenario. It went well though- the fairy coughed up the coin. On another positive note, the scanxiety of yesterday has lifted too. I haven’t actually spoken to my oncologist but I’ve seen the report and it ‘appears there is no melanotic mass’ in my pelvis area. Such a relief, and my liver shows nothing altered either although the cyst and hemangioma are still present and will need babysitting regularly. Only those who’ve had to wait for these kind of results will know, quite often it is nigh on impossible to stop your head from spinning. OM is a time bomb- sometimes the ticking is loud.
