A Series of Upcoming Events

I’ve had a lovely restbite from medical facilities. It was nice while it lasted. I will update these daily over the next week or so as there’s quite a lot going on.

Today I’m heading into london to meet with a specialist who will hopefully be able to tell me she can correct my double vision! Everything brings mixed feelings as I know full well that it will mean undergoing further surgery and an anaesthetic induced nap! The daily migraines and fatigue that my poor right eye is suffering whilst trying to combat the halos or duplicated life through my left are exhausting. By 8pm, my family will tell you, I’m grumpy. I just can’t function, think or see straight. Not that I can see straight for the other 14 hours of my day anyway!

So adventure time back into the big smoke as after this appointment I’m meeting with the team at The Waldorf to view where our Gala Fundraiser will take place. I think I’ve said before that working with our charity has to be the most rewarding thing I’ve ventured into. And the fact that it’s for the benefit of us rare OMies is super exciting. Everyday we’re hearing about new trials and treatments for various cancers- not specifically Ocular Melanoma, but none the less, one day I’m still hopeful they’ll find a cure.

Writing those words in the last sentence hits hard sometimes as I do try and focus on the positive and the future. As yet though, there is still no cure for OM.
